Windrider's family
  • "When I was up there on it, I found myself wishing you were up there, and your mother with you. And I realized I couldn't have the two of them together: my family and flying. And just as I saw the hill coming at me, I realized that my family meant more to me than flying. It's enough for me to know that I can fly."(pg. 241)

Windrider had a dream to fly. He took so much time building an "aeroplane" so he could fly. Finally, the day came, when he was flying and was making his dream real. But, as Windrider was up in the sky flying, he realized how much he loves his family and how much they mean to him. Windrider realizes he is so lucky to have his loving family and that his family is already enough for him to know he can fly.

I liked this passage because it shows how much Windrider loves his family and how he knows he doesn't need to to be on an "aeroplane" to fly because he already has the greatest gift in the world... an amazing family.

    Hi Angela,
This was a really good passage I was going to write about it too. It was inspiring to me because it brought the book together by saying Windriders real dream, to have his family with him. It was also inspiring because Windriders dream was to fly and be a dragon but, dragons can not only fly they also have immense families and that is what he wanted.

    Hey Ang,
I also really liked that passage because Windrider realizes that family comes first before flying, but the flying also was a good experiance on his life because now he can tell Moon Shadows mother all about the experiance of flying when she comes to America.
