Elective Reading-7th
  • cathylincathylin June 2011
Of your four books of elective reading, creative a summary in graphic novel form for two of the books you read. Fold a paper into eight sections, draw the events of the novel adding captions to describe each illustration. You must include the entire, main points of the plot and incorporate the ending. Of course, your name must be on the paper. Turn in your graphic novel summaries to your advisor on the first day of school.

For the Graphic novels do we have to draw the pictures or can we find pictures online?
  • cathylincathylin August 2011
    Hi Carolyn,
Try your hand at drawing and be creative. Your drawings, plus the captions for each drawing will give your English teachers a good idea of whether you understood the book you selected to read for fun.
Enjoy your last week before school.
    Best,
    Ms. Lin

Do the captions have to be quotes from the book or should it just tell what's going on?
  • cathylincathylin August 2011
    Hi Cathy,
The captions should describe each illustration in your own words. Go ahead and tell what's going on and avoid using quotes from the book.
    Best,
    Ms. Lin
