Page 58 Sam decides to join the Patriots because all of his friends have joined.

    In this passage, Sam has decided to be a Patriot and go to war because all of his friends have joined the Patriots. His family are Tories. They are against the war and don't want Sam to join the Patriots. Tim, his brother, tells Sam, "Your family has got to be more important than your friends." I agree with Tim. Your family has to be more important than friends. You should make decisions for yourself and not for your friends. Also, you should always be true to your family.

  • I totally agree on that statement. Being true to your family is much more important than being true to your friends.
