Tomomi's Death Pg. 193
  • lollyd August 2011
Passage- Slowly, Tomomi's head rolled over. Its eyes remained open, and Seikei saw that in the death, Tomomi's face wore a triumphant smile.

I chose this passage because it shows how brave samurai's can be. It also shows how they are not afraid of anything, even dying. Seikei was sad when Tomomi died because he taught him so much and it was very difficult for him to take in.

I also like this passage because in it, it shows that a samurai will go to great lengths, even death, to bring honor to his family and his master. It shows that Tomomi would give and do anything to have his parents honor restored and that family is the most important thing anyone can have. Throughout the book Tomomi showed and taught Seikei and though Seikei was very sad when Tomomi died he knew that his death was very honorable and he looked up to Tomomi for everything that he did.-Shannon Larsuel

This passage shows how brave and kind Tomomi is by being a samurai. Also now Seikei can follow Tomomi's path of being a samurai and will always remember the lesson that Tomomi taught him

This passage shows that Tomomi was extremely brave even when it comes to death. This shows that he cared a lot about being a samurai and will be honored.

This passage shows how much of a samurai Tomomi was. Tomomi showed how he was a samurai by showing his determination to see Lord Hakuseki disgraced and how he wasn't afraid of death. Tomomi was a good example to Seikei because of his displays of courage and determination. Even though Tomomi was a thief he was a traditional samurai.
