"Not once have you risked your life

"Not once have you risked your life in a raid!" he brazenly condemned the commander. "When have you crouched in the cold half of the night, waiting for the moment to attack? What men have you slain? What wounds have you suffered? Yet you take the largest share of spoils, while we who fight get next to nothing!" pg.44

I picked this passage because I thought it was great how Achilles told and expressed to Agamemnon that what he was doing was unfair. It was not fair how Achilles and his men worked hard to fight, how they had to stay out all night long waiting to attack while Agamemnon sits in his palace and does nothing. Achilles and his men suffered wounds and soldiers were getting killed in battle. Even though the soldiers did all the hard work, Agamemnon took all the spoils for himself and the soldiers who worked hard and fought, got next to nothing. Coreyo

I agree with you Coreyo. I would feel mistreated like Achilles and his men did because they did the work and didn't get what they were supposed to get. I would have said the same thing to Agamemnon that Achilles said but it could be risky because it could get you killed. So Achilles was brave AND hotheaded! Will Tayback

I agree with both of you, achilles and his men did all the fighting and the people who didnt even put an effort to fight get all the goods. Justin B
