Moon Shadows Gifts p. 35
  • ncik123 August 2011
Father rumpled my hair affectionatley. "You're welcome, boy. They gave you things for your body. I gave you something for your soul." (p.35)

Moon Shadow had just traveled from China to America to live with his father, Windrider. When Moon Shadow first entered the company, his family gave hime presents, for example shoes, trousers, a hat, and other items of clothing. But to Moon Shadow, his father's present was one of the best. A kite, but it wasn't a simple kite, it was an amazing kite made of bamboo and rice paper. To Moon Shadow, it was perfect.

I liked this passage because Windrider really thought of something special that Moon Shadow would enjoy and be able to have fun with in the new land.

    Hey Eryn,
I really liked that passage too because it shows how much Windrider loves Moonshadow
and how he really wanted to give a special present to Moonshadow to show how much he loves him. Windrider always knew Moonshadow loved kites so he gave him a special kite made of bamboo and rice paper. This was Moonshadow's favorite gift of all because it was from his father, Windrider.
